Copycat Smoothie King Angel Food Recipe: How To Make It Better

A creamy, dessert-like strawberry banana smoothie inspired by Smoothie King’s famous Angel Food recipe. Simple, nostalgic, and incredibly satisfying.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium ripe banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • ½ cup nonfat milk (or plant-based alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar (or natural sweetener)
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ to 1 cup ice (optional)
  • Optional: 1 scoop unflavored or vanilla protein powder

Instructions

  1. Chill the banana in the freezer for 30 minutes if not already frozen.
  2. Add nonfat milk to the bottom of your blender.
  3. Layer frozen strawberries and banana on top.
  4. Add turbinado sugar and vanilla extract.
  5. Include ice based on preferred thickness and blender power.
  6. Blend from low to high speed for 45–60 seconds until smooth.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness, texture, or thickness as desired.

Notes

To make it dairy-free, use almond or oat milk. For a sugar-free version, substitute turbinado with stevia or monk fruit. Great for post-workout or a quick breakfast!
